Repair Terms and Conditions

We’ll treat your device with care and do our best work. Electronics are unpredictable, and by leaving your device with Alexandria Customs, you acknowledge and accept the terms below.

Repair risks (read this)

  • Repairs are not guaranteed. Some devices are beyond repair, and some can fail during or after service due to age, wear, prior damage, or hidden faults (especially liquid-damaged devices).
  • Liquid damage can continue to cause failures over time (shorts, corrosion, oxidation, rust), even after a successful repair attempt.
  • Devices with glued-on screens (example: iPads) require screen removal to access internals; screens are delicate and can crack/break during removal even with experienced handling.
  • Apple Touch ID / Face ID may stop working during or after repair and may become unusable.
  • Some laptops and all-in-ones (especially older models and known-problem lines) can experience GPU-related failures without warning.
  • After repair, the device may not perform exactly like factory-new (examples: water resistance, battery life, cosmetic condition, adhesive strength).

We aim for a great outcome, but you accept the inherent risks of electronic repair. Alexandria Customs is not responsible for damage, defects, or failures that occur during the repair process or due to pre-existing/hidden conditions.

Estimates

Estimates are our best assessment based on the symptoms and what we can see at the time. They are not guaranteed to be final, because some issues only become obvious once work begins.

If the scope or price changes, we’ll contact you before continuing.

Shop warranty (7 days)

We provide a 7-day limited shop warranty on labour and parts used by Alexandria Customs for the original work order. If the same issue from the original work order comes back within 7 days, we may (at our discretion) re-do the repair at no charge, repair it at a reduced cost, or provide a partial/full refund.

Warranty exclusions

Our limited shop warranty does not apply to:

  • Any service using parts not purchased through Alexandria Customs.
  • Software issues/services (including virus removal, OS installs/reinstalls, and software troubleshooting).
  • New symptoms not directly related to the original work order.
  • Any new hardware installs or modifications performed after our service (by anyone), including “just swapping one part.”

The warranty is also void if the device is damaged or tampered with after repair (examples: drops, cracks, dents, liquid exposure, attempted self-repair, internal damage not present at pickup).

Manufacturer warranty disclaimer

Alexandria Customs is not affiliated with device manufacturers. Repairs performed by us may void manufacturer warranties (or third-party warranties). By authorizing service, you acknowledge and accept that risk.

Repair timing

We move fast, but repair timelines are not guaranteed. We work jobs in the order received unless expedited service is requested. Many repairs are completed within 1–48 hours, but parts availability, device condition, and workload can extend timelines.

Replacement parts

If parts are required, we’ll contact you with what’s needed, why, cost, and expected arrival time.

We generally do not install customer-supplied parts because we can’t verify quality, compatibility, or condition. If you provide your own parts and we agree to proceed, those parts (and any labour tied to issues caused by them) are not covered by the Alexandria Customs shop warranty, and you accept the risk of incompatibility or part failure.

Data & privacy

Data safety is not guaranteed. Backups are your responsibility. While we take precautions, we are not liable for data loss or data corruption resulting from diagnostics, repair, updates, or underlying device/storage failure.

If we believe a procedure may risk data, we will advise you when possible and can offer backup services at additional cost.
